The SafeNet Data Discovery Utility can locate clear text data, and users can define their own regular expressions to scan for: it also can act as a compliance validation tool. Data that has already been encrypted and stored in cipher text will not appear in the search results of the discovery tool. Therefore, organizations can validate that the encryption they have in place is effectively safeguarding their data. The discovery utility currently works with Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g and SQL Server 2000, 2005 databases.
The SafeNet Data Discovery Utility is a Java-based application that can quickly and easily install on any platform supporting Java Virtual Machines (JVM).
